01 · Before you arrive

Book your room without visiting.

Most of our Erasmus tenants book without ever setting foot in Coimbra. We send full photos, video of the room and the apartment, and put you in touch with current tenants if you want to talk to them. Contract and deposit handled entirely by email.

02 · Documents

What you'll need.

  • Passport or EU national ID
  • Erasmus acceptance letter from your home university
  • Portuguese NIF — we help you sort it on arrival if you don't have one yet
  • 1-month deposit by bank transfer
03 · Neighbourhoods

Where to live.

Baixa · City Centre

Heart of the city. Close to FLUC (Humanities) and Health Sciences via Ponte Pedro e Inês. Nightlife, cafés, restaurants.

Solum · Polo II

Modern area, cycle paths, supermarkets. Close to Polo II (Engineering, Economics, Law). Quieter, residential.

Historic Centre

University on the hilltop, Sé Velha, Biblioteca Joanina, Repúblicas. For those who want to live inside the classic academic experience.

Dates to know.

  • September–January: 1st semester
  • February–June: 2nd semester
  • October: Latada — welcome week for freshers
  • May: Queima das Fitas — legendary festival week
